Thursday Night Bible Study
Thursday Night Bible Study
Beginning Thursday, October 6, we are beginning a new ministry: a weekly Bible study. We will gather from 7-8pm in the Kemper Library to read and discuss sacred scripture in community. Rev. Katherine Willis Pershey will facilitate the conversation. There will be a small amount of preparatory reading most weeks. We will begin with an Introduction to Biblical Interpretation, followed by an overview of Great Themes of the Bible. Biblical study is a core intellectual and spiritual practice of the Christian faith. If you are interested in this opportunity to grow in faith and understanding, please email Katherine at
Looking Back and Giving Forward: Finding Common Ground for Positive Aging. Join us for an empowering workshop for those who desire to age with grace and peace without denying the challenges. The seven-week workshop begins on Monday, Oct. 3 and runs weekly through Nov. 14. The class will be held at church from 9:30-11:30. Participants will have an opportunity to:
· Discern the legacy that they are making.
· Reflect on how they want this legacy to shape their future.
· Identify the enduring strengths, core values and beliefs that guide their future actions.
· Discover ways in which wisdom can be shared with family and community.
· Build a community to help sustain them now and in the future.
