Our Leadership
Though our church is a member of the United Church of Christ, we are completely autonomous and self-governing. Committees are led by volunteer lay leaders, with the help of a staff liaison. Major decisions are brought before the Congregation and may only be carried forth with a majority vote. The Congregation meets formally twice a year -- at the Annual Meeting in January and the Semi-Annual Meeting in June. Our committees meet once a month from September through May -- generally on the third Monday night of the month. Chairs of each of these committees make up our Church Council, which meets after each of the individual ministry meetings and is led by our Church Moderator, Jane Veldman.
Lay leadership is critical to the life of our church, but also benefits the member many in ways. Through committee involvement, members get to better know one another and form meaningful friendships. Often, these friendships draw people closer to the church and consequently enrich their faith life in numerous ways.
We hope every member will prayerfully consider ways in which they can help lead our church and grow God's kingdom. For details, please click on Church Governance.
