About Us

At First Congo, we seek to be a faithful people, to introduce our children to a loving Jesus and to live our our faith in Christian mission and service. We feel called to love God through worship, which is the central act of our faith.

Our worship is meant to carry us beyond our time together on Sunday and sustain us through the week. And, while First Congo is a growing church with strong member participation and leadership, discipleship is the goal of our church, not just membership. Christian dicipleship is a wholistic concept. It implies a faith that guides us in our homes, in our work and in our schools.

As a family of faith, we come from many Christian traditions. Some have come to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ for the first time. Thus, we strive to honor past traditions as we forge new ones together.

The cross embracing the world in the center of our church logo, pictured below, symbolizes the universal triumphal Christ. In the fields are the Bible, representing the source of our faith; the chalice, the nourishment of our faith; the ship (church), the vehicle of our faith; and the blank field, the truth yet to be revealed through each of us.
