Senior Minister Search Timeline
The committee will be communicating with the congregation as to the status of our search on this webpage, in our Wednesday Weekly emails, and during Sunday worship services. Please check back frequently for updates.
Weekly Search Update from our Senior Pastor Search Committee! 11/26/24:
As of today, our committee has finished Semi-finalist interviews, and we are feeling very positive about the process, progress, and our now final candidate pool.
Beginning next week and continuing through mid-December, we will be bringing these candidates to Western Springs to meet with our Committee, the Executive Committee, staff, and clergy, and to have an initial tour of the Western Springs area.
Once these meetings are completed, we will then begin our final discernment process with the goal of presenting Congo’s Executive Committee with our selection for the Church’s next Senior Minister.
In terms of candidates still under consideration, we are excited and prayerfully optimistic about what each one of these candidates would bring to our Church. Each candidate is unique in terms of their backgrounds, gifts, and abilities — but all are innovative, empathetic, inspiring, and spirit-filled pastors. And, with this, we remain prayerfully optimistic that we do have our next minister amongst this group of finalists. We are also optimistic about extending, and having an acceptance of, our formal call to become our next Senior Minister by late January.
A final word on our candidates coming to visit us over the next few weeks: They are doing so in confidence. If we fail to make an introduction, please know we are only doing so to maintain their anonymity during this stage of the search process — it is nothing personal, and we thank you for your understanding!
